New EV charge points at WWT Castle Espie
There are now around 660,000 electric vehicles on the UK roads and 445,000 plug in hybrids. 1 in 6 new cars purchased in the UK in 2022 was an all electric. The RAC estimates that around 80% of electrical vehicle charging happens at home but public chargers remain critical to consumer confidence, and we regularly get questions about them from our visitors at Castle Espie. The growth of the EV market is expected to accelerate in the coming years as the UK prepares itself for the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicle sales and living in a Net Zero world
We are delighted to announce that we now have 2 charge points installed at Castle Espie.
The chargepoints are on the Podpoint network. Visitors are charged 46p/kWH to use them.
