Our first podcast - The secret life of swans

It has been a fantastic weekend at Martin Mere with over 2000 people coming along to the model train show.  It is the model boat show net weekend so hopefully that one will be very busy as well.

There seems to be so much going on at the moment, but one thing we are starting is a couple of podcasts every month - below is the first one. It is a 5 minute podcast all about Whooper swans. This year we tried to do a swan talk but we couldn't find a time that was suitable - we had a go at 11.30am but that was very quiet, we also thought about 2.45pm but then there was the question of where to do it as it is impractical in swan link hide. IN the end we have put a display of swan artifacts out in the main concourse but we have recorded what the talk would have been for this podcast so I hope you enjoy listening to it.

I also intend to do my own monthly podcast as well talking about what is happening at the centre and my own highlights of the month.  I was also thinking of getting Alex to do an update of the otters and beavers - but if you have any other suggestions of what podcasts you would like to listen to, just let me know and I will pass them onto the marketing manager.

Tomorrow we have a visitor services team meeting, which is all the volunteers that work on the information desk. We try to get them together every few months for a good catch up and an opportunity to share what has worked and of course, what hasn't so hopefully we can come up with loads of suggestions in the future.
