Peregrines

A very blustery day with few reports, but plenty of action, especially with at least 2 Peregrines which have been on view for most of the day, at times mobbing some of the 3 Marsh Harriers present. Also the usual Common Buzzards, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk seen.

Good numbers of Pink-footed Geese coming in and out throughout the day as well as small numbers of Whooper Swans. Lots of wildfowl sheltering on the Mere including Pintail, Teal, Wigeon, Mallard, Shelduck, Tufted Duck, Pochard and Gadwall.

One Green Sandpiper was again seen from the Ron Barker Hide again today, also a few Black-tailed Godwit and plenty of Ruff around the reserve.

Nearby today a Bearded Tit was seen to fly in off the sea at Marshside, with a bit of luck it could end up in our reedbed.
