Pink-foot Arrivals

After yesterday's small influx the numbers of Pink-footed Geese has increased again with numerous small parties dropping in on the reserve throughout the morning. At least 900 birds were present mid afternoon.

The first large conglomerate flocks of Pink-footed Geese dropping onto Sunley's Marsh.

A Curlew Sandpiper (juv) was associating with Ruff (31), seen from the Ron Barker Hide. This is the first record for 2018 on the reserve.

Raptors included 2 Marsh Harrier, 4 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A Spotted Flycatcher was found from the Janet Kear Hide. A declining species and the first record for the year on the reserve.
