Pink-footed Geese

A good arrival of Pinkfeet the major highlight of the day, also good numbers of Yellow Wagtail still

A count of 87 Pink-footed Geese was the main highlight today, all the birds were on Sunley's and Vinson's from Ron Barker Hide and appeared towards the end of the day, Our 4 over summering Whooper Swans were all on view from Ron Barker today, and the first returning birds will hopefully be back in the next few weeks.

Still at least 20+ Yellow Wagtails in with the Longhorn Cattle and occasionally being seen from United Utilities Hide or Ron Barker Hide. Also 2-3 Wheatear close to the Cattle.

A Little Egret and 7 Grey heron were on the Mere, also a Ringed Plover briefly. On Woodend Marsh there were 3 Ringed Plover, 10+ Ruff at least 50+ Snipe and Green Sandpiper and only 3 Black-tailed Godwit today. Kingfishers continue to show well at times from Ron Barker Hide.

Up to 5 Marsh Harrier today as well as the usual Buzzard, kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
