Recent sightings 11th - 14th May

British Steel Hide

Over on the saline lagoons have been 3 Spoonbill, Redshank, Lapwing, Shelduck and Gadwall. On the Dafen scrapes has been a male Garganey, the pair of Little Ringed Plover are still present, Shoveler, Wigeon, Teal, Tufted Duck, Gadwall and Lapwing.

On the freshwater lagoon visible from the observatory have been 391 Black-tailed Godwit and a female Pintail as well as the usual wildfowl.

Millennium Wetlands

Good numbers of Godwit continue to be seen on the front of the main island on deep water lake, mixed in with them have also been up to 11 Dunlin and 25 Knot. Also visible on deep water lake have been Lapwing with chicks,Pochard, Little Grebe, Shoveler, Tufted Duck, Gadwall and Shelduck. Over on the western scrapes visible from the heron's wing hide has been a male Garganey, as well as more Lapwing with chicks.

Sightings of other wildlife around the reserve include Emerald Damselfly, Broad-bodied Chaser Dragonfly, Grass Snake, Slow Worm, Common Lizard.
