Recent sightings 11th September 2017
The following sightings were recorded today from the reserve at Castle Espie:
Estuary - visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory
172 Oystercatcher, 26 Black-headed gull, 7 Cormorant, 72 Lesser black-backed gulls, 14 Curlew, 171 Brent geese, 8 Little egret, 2 Shelduck, 1 Greater black-backed gull
Main lake - visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
137 Mallard, 22 Black-headed gull, 3 Coot, 20 Tufted duck, 1 Black-tailed godwit, 2 Little egret, 1 Little grebe, 1 Redshank
Wader marsh - visible from Wader marsh lookout and Brent Hide
4 Moorhen, 2 Black-headed gull, 1 Coot
Freshwater Lagoon - visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
28 Mallard, 1 Moorhen, 1 Tufted duck
Saline Lagoon - visible from Lime Kiln Observatory
2 Little grebe
