The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, before the wind and rain picked up.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard +100, Tufted duck 9, Gadwall 2, Black-headed gull 7.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Greylag goose 29, Grey heron 1, Oystercatcher 4, Curlew 1.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Mute swan 2 cygnets, Coot 2.
Saline lagoon visible from Limekiln observatory
Little egret 1.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
In low tide this morning: Light-bellied brent geese +3.500, Oystercatcher +200, Black-headed gull +150, Eider 5, Shelduck +140, Curlew 10, Redshank 19 .
Limestone lake
Long-tailed tit 1, Great tit 2, Robin 1.
