Highlights - Brent Geese, Pintail, Fieldfare and Green Sandpiper
British Steel Hide
Lots of wildfowl have been visiting both the Saline Lagoons and the Dafen Scrapes with Pintail, Wigeon, Pochard, Tufted Duck, Shoveler, Shelduck and Teal being seen. There have also been flocks of Brent Geese out on the Estuary but a scope may be need to spot them. two Kingfishers have also been showing well on the Saline Lagoons. The Hawthorn bush to the right of the hide has been popular with Redwing and Fieldfare over the past few days so its always worth keeping an eye out for them.
Millennium Wetlands
Lots of woodland birds have been seen around the North Loop recently with mixed flocks of Treecreepers, Goldcrests, Long-tailed Tits and Coal Tits aswell as the occasional Great Spotted Woodpecker. On the Deep Water Lake Wildfowl numbers are starting to pick up with good numbers of Coot, Gadwall and Teal being seen.
From the Observatory Hide there has been up to 2 Green Sandpipers feeding in the back right corner of the lagoon.
