Recent Sightings (13th- 15th Sep)
British Steel Hide
Black-tailed Godwit numbers have remained consistently high over the past few days, with counts of 1142 and 1195 on the 13th and 15th respectively. A Bar-tailed Godwit has also been a regular fixture in amongst the Godwit flock, although it can be a real challenge to pick it out at times! Greenshank numbers have dropped to around 45 now that passage to their wintering grounds is slowing up. However, Knot are on the increase with counts up to 90 from the past few days. Redshank numbers have remained around the 200 mark, with the highest count being 232. 2 female juvenile Ruff were seen on the 15th as well as 13 Lapwing and 40 Dunlin. The 2 Spoonbills and Spotted Redshank are still regularly seen from the hide. A Peregrine makes regular attempts at the flocks of waders throughout the day, often affording great views as the flocks of waders take to the air with the falcon in pursuit.

212 Greylag Geese, Lesser Whitethroat, Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail, 52 Wigeon, 3 Shoveler, 13 Gadwall, 3 Teal, Great Crested Grebe, Sand Martin, House Martin, Curlew and Raven.
