Recent sightings - 17th June
The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard +40, Tufted duck 10, Black-headed gull +50, Shoveler 1, Coot 1, Greylag 16 + 2 goslings, Mute swan 2.
Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide
Black-headed gull 30, Shelduck 1 adult + 4 ducklings, Great tit 1, Song thrush 1, Robin 1, Pied wagtail 1 young, Swallow 3, Blue tit 1 female + chicks, Greenfinch 1, Blackcap 2 (male/female) + 2 chicks, Wren 1, Chaffinch 1.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Black-headed gull +300, Shelduck 1 adult + 10 ducklings, Mallard 5 adults + 9 ducklings, Coot 1.
Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull +50, Shelduck 2.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull 20, Shelduck 2, Oystercatcher 1, Little egret 1, Ringed plover 2, Meadow pipit 3.
Limestone Lake - visible from Limestone Pavilion and woodplay area lookout
Little grebe 1 adult + 2 chicks.
Upper woodland
Coal tit 1, Wren 1, Goldfinch 3.
Lower woodland
Coal tit 2, Robin 4, Wren 2, Dunnock 1, Blue tit 1 adult + 2 chicks, Willow warbler 1, Goldfinch 1, Goldcrest 1, Great tit 1, Chaffinch 1.
Sensory Garden
Wren 1, Great tit 1 adult + 1 young.
