British Steel Hide
Two Spotted Redshank have been in amongst the Redshank on the Saline Lagoon recently. One Spoonbill was seen flying over the saltmarsh briefly before dropping out of sight on to the estuary. A Green Sandpiper briefly stopped off on the Lagoon before flying off. Numbers of more common species of waders are starting to build up with Greenshank, Knot, Whimbrel, Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Curlew and Redshank all increasing daily. On the Dafen Scrapes a Great White Egret was seen but its the same one that spends most of its time on the Millennium Wetlands.
Millennium Wetlands
The Great White Egret has been showing brilliantly from the Peter Scott Hide as did a Cattle Egret that was first seen flying over the Eastern Scrapes before coming to roost on the Deep Water Lake Islands. There has been a good selection of Warblers recently with Garden, Grasshopper, Sedge and Reed Warblers all seen.
