Recent sightings 20th - 23rd July

Highlights include Teal, Shoveler, and Black-tailed Godwit

British Steel Hide

The flock of young Lapwing continue to be seen over the saline lagoons and Dafen scrapes, as well as Shelduck, Cormorant, and good numbers of Little Egret.

On the Freshwater lagoon visible from the boardwalk hide have been a number of juvenile Tufted Duck, as well as Moorhen chicks.


Millennium Wetlands

Around 450 Black-tailed Godwit have been seen on the front of the main Island on Deep Water Lake, visible from the Heron's Wing hide. Also on Deep Water Lake have been Shoveler, Teal, Little Grebe, Gadwall, and good numbers of Little Egret.

With the recent sunshine has come good numbers of butterflies visible around the reserve, including Painted Lady, Gatekeeper, Peacock, Ringlet, Common Blue, Meadow Brown and Speckled Wood.
