The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 50, Tufted duck 13, Black-headed gull 40.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Shelduck 2.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Tufted duck 3, Black-headed gull 300, Mute swan 2 (nesting; the number of eggs has raised from 3 to 5 during this week).
Saline Lagoon
Black-headed gull 60.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull +500, Oystercatcher 10, Black-tailed godwit +300, Brent geese 50, Shelduck 5, Lesser black-backed gull 4.
Peninsula Marsh - visible from Limekiln observatory and P. Marsh lookout

Secret Swamp
An intense activity of tadpoles takes place at the moment in the Swamp ponds, along with a vigorous aquatic plant growth.
