Recent Sightings 24th-31st July
Highlights - Goshawk, Great White Egret, Whimbrel, Greenshank and Clouded Yellow Butterfly
This week, a goshawk was spotted flying over the reserve, and a great white egret made several appearances across the reserve.
All three juvenile great crested grebes are still on Deep water lake, and are now exploring the lake independently. Some first flight attempts are also starting to occur.
High tides this weekend have seen a selection of waders on site, with whimbrel, curlew, dunlin, redshank, greenshank, lapwing, green sandpiper, common sandpiper and black-tailed godwit all present.
A clouded yellow butterfly was found on the centre path of the Millenium wetlands, and a small copper was also seen on the reserve.
Migrant hawkers are now starting to appear on site, joining the common darters, small red-eyed damselflies and emperor dragonflies already present.
