Recent Sightings 25th-31st July

Highlights - Great White Egret, Tree Pipit, Crossbill, Garden Warbler, Sandwich Terns

British Steel Hide

The tides haven't been ideal for large numbers of waders recently however there are still smaller numbers of Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Greenshank, Knot, Dunlin, Lapwing, Curlew and Whimbrel. Out on the estuary Sandwich Terns were seen fishing on the boundary of the salt marsh and estuary on a windy day. On the Dafen Scrapes a Common Sandpiper was seen foraging around the edges of the lagoons.

Millennium Wetlands

The Great White Egret continues to show well on the Deep Water Lake but is sometimes chased of by the resident Grey Herons. A couple of Garden Warblers, Lesser Whitethroats and a Tree Pipit were seen as well as a fly over group of 7 Crossbills. The Kingfisher has been showing incredibly well every so often on the perches in front of the Peter Scott Hide.
