The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, near high tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 2, Tufted duck 5, Black-headed gull 120, Little egret 7, Coot 1.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Oystercatcher 2, Black-tailed Godwit 25.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Tufted duck 2, G adwall 1, Black-headed gull 400, Mute swan 1.
Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull 60.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull 15, Oystercatcher 30, Brent geese 1.
Peninsula marsh – visible from Limekiln observatory
Shelduck 2, Black-headed gull 2. A pair of Ringed plovers seem to be nesting here.
