Millennium Wetlands

Good numbers of Black-tailed Godwit are regularly seen on deep water lake with some Knot mixed in, and there are still a good amount of Lapwing nesting on the main island and cockleshell beds. Around the reserve both seen and heard have been Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Bullfinch, Chaffinch and Song Thrush. Around 50 Sand Martins have been seen across the reserve, 2 Mediterranean Gulls mixed in with the Black-headed Gulls, a pair of Sparrowhawks displaying, and a Peregrine seen hunting over deep water lake.

This morning we were treated to great views of the female Otter hunting deep water lake, and she was joined by 2 kits that were too busy playing to be hunting! A Stoat was also spotted around the Lilly Pond area.

Plenty of butterflies to be seen around the reserve when the sun is shining, such as Orange Tip, Peacock, Comma, Speckled wood and Brimstone.
