Recent Sightings - 7th October
The following sightings were reported by Kerry Mackie, WWT Castle Espie Reserve Manager
70 Turnstone
500 Knot
140 Bar-tailed Godwit
1 Spoonbill roosting on the black rock at highwater
100 widgeon
Up to 10 Little Egrets on the estuary with 17 Egrets on the night roost
50 – 60 Eider
4 Red-breasted Merganser
2,500 – 3ooo Brent now with some families spotted from Castle Espie
5 Little Grebe
Up to 20 pintail on the main lake.
A couple of Twight.
On the first of October the first five Whooper Swans of the season flew over Castle Espie.
