The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 10, Tufted duck 4, Black-headed gull 115, Little egret 1, Gadwall 1, Coot 2.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Black-headed gull 25, Redshank 1.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Tufted duck 1, Gadwall 1, Black-headed gull 150, Mute swan 2, Pied wagtail 2 (a female feeding a juvenile).
Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull 55, Tufted 2, Gadwall 1.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull +100, Lesser Black-backed Gull 3.
Peninsula marsh – visible from Limekiln observatory
Black-headed gull 1, Sedge warbler 1, Ringed plover 1 (in nest).
Limestone Lake - Visible from the lookout in the woodland play area
Tufted duck 14, Gadwall 1, Little grebe 1.
