Redwings
Holden Tower
Four Cranes included two unringed adults.
Over the tide a party of 10 Grey Plover, c10 Dunlin, 212 Shoveler, c30 Curlew, 14 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 7 Pintail and c40 Wigeon were pushed up by the tide. A Peregrine and Marsh Harrier kept them on their toes.
A Green Sandpiper was on the Pill Box Pool and c30 Shoveler and 15 Gadwall on the Long Ground Pool.
Tack Piece
A flock of c70 Teal, 16 Lapwing and a 3 Spotted Redshank were on the scrape.
Rushy Hide
Green Sandpiper, 40 Teal and a few Lapwing on the lower pond.
South Lake
35 Redshank, 52 Black-tailed Godwit, 72 Lapwing and Ruff on the scrape. c30 Shoveler and 50 Teal also present with 2 Pochard among the Tufted Duck on deep lake.
Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece
A juvenile Little Stint, 4 Avocet, 146+ Dunlin, 12 Lapwing, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ruff and 42 Golden Plover among 1000+ Teal and 8 Pintail and 2 Great Black-backed Gull and a calling Cetti's Warbler present.
A flock of 16 Redwing headed over S which may herald some visible migration (vismig) through the day.
