Reed Bunting and Goldcrest
Small bird activity has again been good down the Avenue and Loaning with close up views of Male Reed Bunting and also two Goldcrests. The flocks of Golden Plover are building up and can often be seen flying overhead, along with the Lapwing. Their movement around the site is potentially caused by the presence of Raptors with Peregrine still showing regularly down at Saltcot Merse Observatory. The first Snowdrops of the year have appeared in the hedgerows alongside the Wildlife Garden, with Daffodil bulbs also starting to push their way above the soil.
If you are visiting please bear in mind that we have had a significant amount of rainfall in the past week so please wear appropriate footwear.
