Reserve Update Friday 5th October - Otterly brilliant morning!

Well things certainly livened up on Whooper Pond again this morning.  The slight drop in temperature encouraged some of the elusive Whooper Swans to remain on the pond with new leg rings being recorded.  The Mute Swan pair were not entirely happy about this situation but their attention soon turned to the Otter that was busy feeding around the edges of the Pond.  The Otter was wary of the aggressive displays made by the male but got its's own back by swimming under the swan!  In comparison the Teal and Moorhen seemed unfazed by having the Otter present.

Named Whooper Swan arrivals:

YHS - Solway Siren
Lost Darvic - Hagar
YJL - Linda H
YSJ - Sheldon Whooper

Today's high tide is at 09:42, 8.1m.
