Reserve Update Saturday 21st April

Well the sun is shining, the birds are singing....and our lonely Whooper Swan was back on the pond this morning!  He has the company of a couple of Mute Swans and a good number of Tufted Ducks.  The first House Martin was spotted around the Farmhouse Tower on Wednesday afternoon.  There are still very good numbers of Barnacle Geese around the reserve with a max count this week of over 10,000.  They tend to be visiting the fields close in to all the hides so are giving great views.  The bankings of Primroses and Lesser Celandine are glowing in the sunshine.

Today's high tide is at 14:42, 8.7m

Barnacle Geese: around 7,500
