Reserve Update Thursday 23rd August

Good range of species down on the Flood Ground this morning with Shoveler joining the mix.  Over 180 Teal were observed there yesterday but numbers have dropped right down again first thing this morning.  Rather bedraggled Kestrel perched on the fence line and female Sparrowhawk bombing around the Avenue Tower.  the Willow tree down at Saltcot was good for Willow warblers and Linnets yesterday and raptor sightings from the Merse Observatory are creeping up (though maybe not today in all the mist and rain!)  Tree Sparrow are around in good numbers particularly in the Peter Scott Trail and the hedgerows down to the Peter Scott Observatory.

Today's high tide is at 11:30, 7.9m
