Reserve Update Thursday 4th October

Lovely flock of over fifty Curlew busy feeding out in the Meadow next to Whooper Pond this morning.  They were a bit jumpy due to the regular fly-pasts of a kestrel.  The best place to see the Barnacle Geese this morning is down at Avenue Tower, around 1,000 in our Tower field including one hybrid.  A Pintail was observed feeding on the Flood Ground mixed in with the Wigeon and Shoveler.  Gadwall were showing nicely on the Back Pond yesterday afternoon so don-t forget to take a pop into the Peter Scott Trail if visiting today.  The Whooper Swans remain elusive.

Named Whooper Swan arrivals:

YHS - Solway Siren
Lost Darvic - Hagar

Today's high tide is at 08:17, 7.7m.
