Reserve Update Wednesday 24th October
Good mix of birds on and around Folly Pond this morning. We have Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit in the waders category, Mallard, Teal, Wigeon and Shoveler representing the ducks, Whooper Swans (obviously a touch late leaving the roosting pond!) and a mass of Barnacle Geese in the field beyond (including two of the leucistic birds). There is a drake Pintail in all his finery down on Flood Ground. This is another good spot to do a bit of duck watching with Shoveler, Teal and Wigeon in good numbers down here too. If you want to tick off a further duck species then head to Teal Pond to catch up with the Gadwall. There are now both Redwing and Fieldfare making use of the Hawthorns and berry bushes on the reserve.
