South Lake

The south end of the wader scrape is busy with feeding birds especially Mallard and Teal. Bart and Ruby and their two offspring were also joining in. Other counts (as it was a WeBS day)

5 Pochard, 39 Tufted Duck, drake Mandarin, 2 Cormorant (7 late afternoon), 1 Great Crested Grebe, 60 Mallard, 193 Teal, 7 Dunlin, 4 Ruff, Pintail, 35 Shoveler, 18 Gadwall, 8 Coot, 37 Lapwing, 8 Moorhen, 25 Shelduck, 9 Snipe, 6 Black-tailed Godwit (30+ later). 850 Black-headed Gull and an adult Mediterranean Gull also noted today.

Chiffchaff, pair of Mandarin, 18 Shoveler, 4 Gadwall, 3 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 1 Pintail, 5 Shelduck, 5 Mallard.

Estuary

64 Curlew, 12 Mlaard, 140 Wigeon, 30 Pintail, 2 Redshank, 10 Teal, 1 Grey Plover and 80 Shelduck on the Dumbles edge at high tide

Holden Tower

Peregrine, 220 Linnet, 550 Starling, 174 Greylag and 155 Barnacle Geese.

4 Wigeon 415 Teal, juvenile Ruff, 1 Snipe, 22 Lapwing.

Water Rail, 4 Blackcap, migrant Blackbirds and a Mistle Thrush.
