Seabirds including a Leach's Petrel

Seabirds

Around 11:30am a flock of approx 62 Kittiwakes were over the Noose but all headed SW downriver, subsequently a tired looking Leach's Petrel showed up, intitally floating up until chased by gulls and was lost to view, it reappeared later, once again it headed upriver where it was lost to view. Whilst searching for this bird a Dark-bellied Brent Goose and another juvenile Kittiwake was found.

Collared Pratincole

No sign of this most welcome visitor today, it hasn't been seen since early afternoon yesterday. The bird had spent two days feeding well on wasps and hornets and had begun to range about the reserve, with any luck it managed to migrate as far south as possible on it's delayed journey to Africa.
