Sightings at Arundel

Good morning All!
With the sun finally putting in an appearance it's another beautiful day out on the reserve.
From the RAMSAR & SAND MARTIN hides this morning I saw; 5 Grey herons, 6 Cormorant, 1 Shag, 2 Mute swans, 9 Shoveler, 6 Pochard, 4 Shelduck, 17 Gadwall, 28 Teal, 3 Snipe, 14 Tufted duck, 9 Lapwing, 2 Canada geese, Mallard, Moorhens, Coots and Black headed gulls!
The Lapwing hide was a little quieter with 1 Grey heron, Pheasants, Mallards and Moorhens. However later on in the day their are usually good numbers of Teal and the Kingfisher is a fairly frequent addition.
Looking up to the hanger from the entrance to this hide, birds of prey such as; Peregrine, Buzzards, Red kite, Sparrow hawks and Kestrels have all been spotted in the last couple of days.
The SCRAPE had 20 Teal, 4 Shoveler and 6 Snipe visiting this morning.
Around the reserve, sightings of Kingfisher, Water rail and Water voles are a frequent occurrence.
Also spotted today were; Greater spotted woodpecker, Nuthatch, Bullfinch, Grey & Pied wagtail, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Song thrush, Wren, Fieldfare, Redwing, Blackbird, Magpie, Jackdaw, Herring gull, Crow & Collared dove.
