Spotted Crake is still here...

Van de Bovenkamp Hide

The juvenile Spotted Crake continues to show well on the small drained dragonfly pool adjacent to the hide and path. Please note that we are currently repairing and replacing the wheelchair access bay at the North end of the hide. The project and associated noise does not seem to have impact on the bird. The wheelchair access ramp and that end of the hide are closed for safety, please do not climb through the barriers. It does mean that short term disturbance to the bird is likely as visitors walk past the pool, the bird reappears a few minutes after people move past. It is a great opportunity to see a secretive bird close up.
