A beautiful day on site, with our first Oyster catcher being seen from the Sand Martin Hide this afternoon.
A Red Kite this morning was spotted low over the reserve and Buzzards all day catching the thermals above the hanger.
Also spotted around the reserve & grounds;
Blackbird, Nuthatch, Wren, Bullfinch, Grey wagtail, Dunnock, Chaffinch, Kingfisher, Long/ Blue/ Great and Coal tit, Great spotted woodpecker, Green finch, Robin, Starlings.
Coot, Moorhen, Mallard, Mute swan, Tufted duck, Gadwall, Mandarin duck, Pochard.
From the Lapwing hide;
Lapwing, Teal, Mallard, Pheasant, Wood pigeon, Crows, Magpie.
From the Scrape hide; Cormorants, Teal, Snipe, Canada geese, Water rail, Shelduck.
From the Ramsar & Sand Martin Hides;
Black headed gulls, Cormorants, Teal, Lapwing, Mute swan, Grey Heron, Shelduck, Herring gulls.
On Wetlands Discovery; Canada geese, Pochard, Tufted duck, Little Grebe.
