Swans Gathering
It is that time of year again when the Whooper Swans are starting to make a move to their favoured pasture area to the East of us. We are currently averaging between 40 and 60 birds at the feeds. Interestingly we are also recording new birds arriving, presumably those moving up from further south in the country. The high tide yesterday and stronger winds once again saw the water coming over to cover some of our merse areas. This pushes the waders further inland and could be repeated again today. Little Egrets are still around with three down on the Flood Ground this morning.
