WWT invites you to join us as we unite with groups, charities, businesses and individuals across the country in a collaborative effort to raises our concern about climate change as part of the Great Big Green Week (GBGW) which starts today (18 September).
Organised by the Climate Coalition – a group of 140 organisations representing 22 million people – GBGW is a way to bring together as many voices as possible to show the Government the depth and concern about this crucial issue in the run up to COP 26.
Community events up and down the country will celebrate local activity, raising the profile of climate change and showing why it is relevant to local communities and decision makers. National organisations like WWT will join in and we will be sharing some ideas on how you can participate and be part of the effort to put pressure on the Government to tackle climate change now.
Over the next week, look out on our social media channels for some of the actions you can take including signing and sharing our Wetlands Can! pledge and downloading our Just Add Water toolkit to build a mini wetland in your back garden. Wetlands are great for carbon capture, as well as helping to prevent flooding, for wildlife, and for our health and wellbeing, so even building a mini pond or drainpipe wetland can help in the vital fight against climate change.
