Teal, lapwings and kingfisher
On the the daily morning walk round on Tuesday, a flock of amorous Teal were displaying in the morning sun – a beautiful sight and sound. Lapwing numbers are increasing, the ubiquitous Kingfisher is showing at Scrape and Ramsar hides and we are hearing abundant Water rail. Even though we are at the beginning of winter, the usual weather fluctuations mean we are seeing oddities like bats flying at dusk, Mallards incubating eggs and masrh marigolds flowering.
