Temminck's Stint still present

Temminck's Stint still present on Sunley's Marsh from the Ron Barker Hide.

At least two Marsh Harrier hunting around the reserve. Also 3 Buzzard and 2 Kestrel.

Lapwing numbers are building with at least 400 birds loafing on the Mere. An influx of Snipe with minimum of 30 birds present. Also 10+ Black-tailed Godwit, 5+ Ruff and 2 Green Sandpiper from the UU Hide.

The feral flock of Greylag and Canada Geese are building with around 700 and 400 respectively. Twelve Pink-footed Geese seen on the coast today. Teal numbers are building too and Shoveler with both species in eclipse plumage on the Mere.

Swallow, House Martin in good numbers and a few Sand Martin feeding over the reserve. Tree Sparrows as usual along the Nature Trail and 40+  Stock Dove feeding out on the reserve. A few Pied Wagtail feeding round the Mere.

Kingfisher on the Mere early on. Willow Warbler by the Hale Hide. At least 10 Grey Heron and 2 Little Egret.

 

Teal, Snipe, Lapwing, Shoveler all tucked away in the vegetation..
