The map is back...

After a sizable absence we are re-introducing the sightings map. This may not be the final version and it does make more sense zoomed in but given those caveats we think it is a helpful, especially to those visiting for the first time.

Cuckoo still present in the Reed Bed area. Getting reasonably late for adult birds as some have already set off back to Africa sometime ago.

Plenty of waders scattered around the reserve. At least 150 Lapwing, 20+ Avocet including many fledged juveniles now. At least 60 Black-tailed Godwit in a variety of plumages.

Tufted Duck with 8 relatively recently hatched ducklings from the Harrier Hide. Little Grebes with 3 chicks there too. Three Little Egret in the area.

Blackcaps and Whitethroats around the Ron Barker Hide.

A few plants coming into flower.

Dune Helleborine along the start of the Reed Bed Walk from the coach car park.
