The Mileage Company donations to WWT top £100k

The Mileage Company, operators of the new UK Avios travel rewards programme, has made its latest donation of over £40,000 to the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT), as part of its on-going support to us.

The Mileage Company has now donated over £100,000 to WWT since its support started in 2010.

The donation to WWT is the result of the Avios programme's mobile 'phone recycling initiative whereby members can recycle their mobiles via www.avios.com and receive 7,500 Avios.

The mobiles are recycled and the profits are donated to WWT to use for its conservation projects around the world.

The Mileage Company has also provided £3,000 for primary school trips for children local to The Mileage Company offices. This has helped over 200 children visit WWT Arundel in West Sussex and the WWT Martin Mere in Lancashire.

Through the Avios programme, The Mileage Company is also supporting Flying Start, the British Airways global charity partnership with Comic Relief. Avios is providing the in-flight envelopes for passengers, should they wish to, donate their money directly to the charity causes.

Andrew Swaffield, Managing Director, The Mileage Company, operators of Avios said:

"We are delighted to continue to support WWT and its vital conservation work. We know our members love to travel but also want to help reduce their carbon footprint. We are proud to support Flying Start and its valuable work helping UK and worldwide communities.”
