Today' sightings- Bittern!
Land rover safari
Whilst out on the 1100-1245pm Land rover safari the visitors and staff all had great views of a Bittern in flight. We also had close views of a male Sparrowhawk as well as Marsh Harrier, Pintail, 5 Avocet, 10 Black-tailed Godwit, 70 Curlew, 9 Dunlin, 3 pairs of Common Tern and 7 Grass Snakes were also seen.
South Lake
A flock of 156 Black-tailed Godwit, 20 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper and at least 2 Ruff (male and female). 10 Teal, 60 Gadwall and 30 Tufted Duck were on the deep lake.
Zeiss Hide
Over 100 Teal, 20 Gadwall, 2 Dunlin, 11 Avocet, 1 Redshank and 40 Lapwing on the flood.
Rushy Pen Hide
5 Green Sandpiper, 2 Teal and 3 Black-tailed Godwit as well the collection of waterfowl.
Tack Piece (Robbie Garnett Hide)
5 Green Sandpiper and 4 Lapwing on the scrape, two Crane GCP on the field.
