South Lake

An increase in Redshank numbers as the post-breeding moult flock arrives. Also 43 Black-tailed Godwit, 1st summer Mediterranean Gull (partial ghost hood), Common Tern, Great Crested Grebe, Oystercatcher, Lapwing and 30 Gadwall.

Top New Piece-Zeiss Hide

Drake Garganey feeding with 20 Teal, usually far right of flood north end. 75 Gadwall and 8 Shoveler also present. A gathering of 40 Avocet as well as other commoner wetland birds. Great Crested Grebe on the pool to the left.

Kingfisher Hide

The Cuckoo showed well again.

Rushy Pen

Many broods of Avocet, a brood of Lapwing, a brood of Oystercatcher and three broods of Oystercatcher are really breathing life into the small but highly productive wetland area.

Holden Tower

A pair of Avocet and Peregrine seen today.
