Today's sightings

Another lovely day in the sunshine and lots of birds to see.  Warbler activity continues to be strong, and again the Knott Hide is one of the best places although the hedgerows and trees around the whole reserve seems alive.  Out on the Land Rover Safari we've been treated to great views of the Cranes, several Common Tern, 2 Hobby and the Marsh Harrier.  Why not join us for a Land Rover Safari on your next visit, but be quick as they only be running weekends until the end of September.  Find out more here.

Rushy Pen
A Common Sandpiper was with several Green Sandpiper, other waders included a stunning juvenile Ruff, at least 2 Snipe and 5 Black-tailed Godwits.

Robbie Garnett Hide
A Whinchat was amongst the arable weeds on the Tack Piece.  Three Cranes were seen along with great views of around 40 Teal, all busy feeding along the water's edge.  Also keep an eye out for warblers as 3 Sedge Warblers were present this morning.

Knott Hide
Lesser Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap were all showing well today along the hedgerow.  Look out for Bullfinch too.

Holden Tower
Both Lesser Whitethroat and Whitethroat were seen today from the Tower, along with a male Redstart.  Migration is certainly in full swing so keep an eye out for anything moving along the hedgerows.  The hide gives a great vantage point.  A Green Sandpiper was on the pool to the left of the tower.

Zeiss Hide
Four juvenile Curlew Sandpiper were with the waders on the Top New Piece pool, the other waders including 7 juvenile Ruff, 70 Lapwing, 2 Redshank, 2 Avocet, 3 Greenshank and a Green Sandpiper.  The Garganey was seen again amongst the Teal and Shoveler.

South Lake Hide
This hide is continuing to provide great views of Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank and Lapwing.
