The Tack Piece was busy this morning with the whole flock of 164 White-fronted Geese present along with a few Greylags and Canadas. Around 80 Wigeon were grazing around the scrape, surrounded by a mix of over 500 Lapwing, 41 Curlew, 162 Golden Plover, 50 Dunlin and a single Redshank.

Three Cranes (Cotton, Oakie and Evie) dropped in early morning and fed around the areas of standing water. A Peregrine was out on the river at low tide and a Buzzard was sat on its usual fence post. Two male Skylark were singing on the Dumbles and a flock of 10 Linnet were feeding along the seawall before dropping into the Tack Piece.

A nice selection of birds here including 38 Pintail, 780 Dunlin, 75 Golden Plover, 30 Snipe, 250 Lapwing, 350 Teal and 50 Wigeon.

The flock of Black-tailed Godwit continues to grow and today numbered 153 birds. Mixed amongst them and the large number of Lapwing were 7 Ruff whilst 3 Oystercatchers were on the causeway and islands. Duck included 52 Shelduck, 15 Shoveler and several hundred Teal. The Great Crested Grebe was also present.
