Holden Tower & Walkway

The Spotted Redshank was on the Tack Piece this morning with 2 Redshank and a few Lapwing.  The flock of 162 White-fronted Geese were grazing here too.  Other birds included 7 Cranes, 17 Curlew, 8 Shoveler, 29 Pintail and around 200 Wigeon.  A Peregrine was out on the Dumbles as the incoming tide pushed 42 Shelduck up on to the saltmarsh along with a handful of Wigeon, 40 Dunlin and 50 Lapwing.

The Water Rail was showing well again from the Willow Hide.

Rushy Hide & Peng Observatory

Spring migration continues with only 37 Bewick's Swans present this morning.

South Lake Hides

A total of 18 Avocet were present this morning along with 262 Black-tailed Godwits, 50 Dunlin, 2 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 150 Lapwing and a Crane.  The Shoveler have paired up and can be seen feeding together, a count of 42 birds this morning.

Zeiss Hide

Waders dominated the birds present and included 500 Dunlin, 200 Golden Plover, 19 Ruff, 37 Snipe and 6 Curlew.  Around 200 each of Wigeon and Teal were present along with 8 Shoveler.  A Cetti's Warbler was singing from the reedbed.
