Today's sightings

Rushy Pen

Up to five different Mediterranean Gulls, the nesting Avocets including a brood of 4 chicks and a few Lapwing. No reports of the Lapwing chicks but we hope they are hiding out there somewhere.

Tack Piece

A pair of Lapwing with a brood of three chicks along the scrape edge. Feeding Avocets and a few pairs of duck.

Holden Tower

Lapwing and Skylarks on the Dumbles. A Grey Plover and Dunlin at high tide.

Middle Point

A few Sanderling, Dunlin and two Curlew were seen on the estuary. Three migrant Whimbrel feeding in the Goose House Ground viewable from the seawall.

South Lake

Cranes 'Bart and Ruby' nesting close to the Hogarth Hide. 33 Avocets with broods of 1, 2 and 4, other birds still incubating eggs. A single Ruff and 115 Black-tailed Godwit as well as a few Lapwing.

Zeiss Hide

45 Shelduck, two pairs of Teal, 3 Shoveler and a few Gadwall.

Kingfisher Hide

Pair of Kingfishers still feeding young
