Bewick's Swan- a dark billed bird was present for 10 minutes before flying to the estuary.
Robbie Garnett Hide-Tack Piece
Wigeon 600 and also a probable American Wigeon female, seen two very brief glimpses of underwing-axillaries and they appeared white, all other features such as grey peppered head with dark eye mask, broad chestnut fringes to all back feathers, well marked undertail and contrasting orange flanks all make this a very distinctive bird when close or with scope views. It has been sleeping a lot but some good views of the bird have been possible. I would like to see it or even better video it flank on. I hope for a prolonged wing stretch to allow better views. It has a slightly stiff left leg, has been aggressive towards other Wigeon and has spent the afternoon on the Tack Piece being viewable from the Martin Smith Hide too.
