The godwit flock have been highly mobile this week but still prefer to roost on South Lake. Other regular spots have been the approach road fields and the Tack Piece.

South Lake

A bit quieter this week as shallow water duck specialists and waders are attracted to flooded fields but single Great Crested and Little Grebes are still present. Chiffchaffs are feeding in the willows today giving themselves away by their call.

Robbie Garnett Hide

Most of the work on the hide is finished, just wood preserver to paint on, sorry for any noise whilst the back of the hide and screens were being replaced. The work did not really affect the birds here and numbers have been similar such as...

Variable numbers of geese, Greylag and Canada mostly.

Holden Tower

Also had repairs to it this week, today a flock of 300 Wigeon and the Peregrine was out on the Dumbles, the Barnacle Goose flock held an Egytpian Goose.

Zeiss Hide

Redshank 4, Black-tailed Godwit 2, Wigeon 650, Pintail 52, Teal 700 and a variety of other duck species.
