Trio of kingfishers fledge
Three juvenile kingfishers were spotted and two were photographed by regular visitor Mike Jerome on Sat 3 August. This is the second brood from the pair that nested in hole #5 in the bank on the Arun Riverlife lagoon this year. These youngsters still have the white tips on their beaks that marks them as fledglings.

Wet grassland: 1 cattle egret, 6 wood pigeons, 1 wren, 1 coot, 1 mallard, 3 goldfinches, 1 black-headed gull, 1 blackbird, 1 sedge warbler, 1 dunnock
Wetland Discovery area:6 long-tailed tits
Ramsar & Sand martin hide: 1 great white egret
Sun 4 August
Wetland Discovery area: 2 greenfinches, 1 pied wagtail, 2 chaffinches, 1 robin, 1 sedge warbler, 5 goldfinches, 2 mallards, 1 chiffchaff
Waterside walk: 5 linnets with 3 juveniles
Ramsar and Sand martin hides: 1 kingfisher, 1 little egret, 1 grey wagtail, 6 cattle egrets, 1 grey heron.

Arun Riverlife lagoon: 4 kingfishers – 3 juveniles and adult female, a pair of mute swans with two cygnets, 11 mallards, 15 black-headed gulls, 2 moorhens, 1 wood pigeon, 1 sedge warbler
Car park: 1 marsh harrier
Scrape hide: 1 shoveler, c 20 sand martins
Sand martin hide & Ramsar hide:32 gadwall, 1 gret heron, c 10 sand martins, 3 cattle egrets, 3 cormorants

Wood Loop: 2 great tits, 3 blue tits, 1 robin, 4 tufted ducks, 2 moorhens, 4 mallards, 1 carrion crow, 1 great spotted woodpecker, 1 blackbird, 2 chaffinches
Ramsar hide: 1 great white egret, 1 cattle egret, 1 male kingfisher
Thurs 1 August
Reedbed Willow sphere: 14 mallards, 1 mandarin duck, 1 cormorant, 1 kingfisher, blue tit.
Scrape hide: 1 shoveler duck, 3 sand martins.
