Waders

Plenty of waders on the move at the moment, a juvenile Wood Sandpiper has been on site for a few days now but is very mobile, best looked for from Ron Barker where it was in Langleys Brook this morning. Also up to 5 Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Sandpiper, 9 Little Ringed Plover, 7 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover, 35 Ruff and small numbers of Black-tailed Godwit. Common Snipe have started to be seen in small numbers around the site. A Golden Plover was in with the Lapwing flock on Woodend Marsh yesterday.

A Ruddy Shelduck was out on Woodend Marsh from UU Hide yesterday, no reports today so far.

During the week we have a had 2 different Marsh Harriers, a juvenile and an adult female, also plenty of Hobby sightings including 2 birds on a couple of days, also Peregrine seen midweek.

A juvenile Little Grebe was on the Mere today, also still lots of juvenile Shelduck to be seen. A count of 20 Grey Herons with 3 Little Egrets from Ron Barker this morning.
