Waders on the estuary

A short scan from Middle Point across the Severn this morning was productive, 2 Peregrine, 2 Kestrel, a flock of 26 Sanderling with another with a flock of 13 Dunlin, more scattered parties of the latter were about the estuary as well as 5, 5 and 3 Ringed Plover, a Turnstone, a Whimbrel, 10 Avocet, 21 Black-tailed Godwit, 30 Curlew and 65+ Shelduck on the mud flats nearby.

Up to 60 Dunlin, juvenile Black-tailed Godwit, 25 Avocet and 2 Buzzard, the Cattle Egret appeared late afternoon as did 25 Redshank.

South Lake

6 Ruff, 212 Black-tailed Godwit, 40 Lapwing, 24 Redshank and 1 Oystercatcher.
