Wet and windy!

The recent rains have topped up many of the pools and left standing water in many of the fields, particularly the fields around the South Finger hides and out on the Dumbles, where birds are making the most of the conditions!

The Dumbles were busy with Lapwing and Shelduck this morning, with 109 of the latter dotted across the various pools and patches of water busy feeding away.  Lapwing numbered around 600 with a further 200 or so Dunlin mixed in amongst them.  Look out for Golden Plover later in the day.  Three Bewick's Swans had left the Rushy before the feed, and were on the Dumbles and were later joined by many others as the morning progressed.
